You've heard the saying: There's an app for that. Insurance companies are increasingly putting out smartphone applications to provide customers with easier access to their services.
As Insurance Quotes notes in its recent article titled “6 Insurance Apps You Need to Download,” not all apps are created equal. Apps created by private developers can be full of bugs, and apps created by specific companies can only be used by customers of that company.
The following apps are highly rated and user-friendly. Click “next” to see the top 5 best property and casualty insurance consumer apps.
State Farm Pocket Agent
Everything a State Farm customer needs can be found in this app. Customers can view their policy, submit an auto insurance claim, contact a local agent, pay bills using the State Farm Bank mobile bill pay feature, transfer funds from one eligible State Farm Bank account to another, and search for and locate roadside services and auto repair facilities.
AAA
There's no need to dig around for your AAA card and dial a phone number the next time you need roadside assistance. With AAA's Roadside app, you can just take out your phone to make a request for assistance. Using the location of your phone, a request for assistance is sent to the nearest technician for a quicker response. You can also view your AAA card and find nearby AAA-approved auto repair shops and offices with the app.
MyHOME Scr.APP book
Its name might be a bit disorganized, but the MyHOME Scr.APP book from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners is all about organization. The app allows you to inventory your home in order to determine how much insurance you need, or in the event of a robbery or disaster, file a claim. You can collect and save information for each item in each room of your home and create a backup file to share with your insurance agent.
C.A.R. (Car Accident Report)
No pen? No problem. With C.A.R. you can take down information after an accident and e-mail yourself all the collected information using the iPhone's e-mail client. Using the app you can collect people, location, vehicle and witness information with its various multi-media utilities.
Help I Crashed My Car
The Help I Crashed My Car app uses GPS technology to locate the nearest police department, ambulance service, towing company, and rental car company. With just one click, the app's automated communication system contacts up to three contacts, your insurance company and agent, and preferred body shop.
