In addition to his role as vice president of enterprise risk management at Quality Distribution, Mike McDonald also oversees QD Risk Services (QDRS), a subsidiary company that offers risk-consulting and claims-management services to both its parent and other firms.
The trucking company uses its own QDRS claims adjusters to handle physical-damage claims within its deductible.
QDRS also provides audit services, reserve-process analysis and best-practices guidance to other Quality Distribution subsidiaries: rail-transfer company Quality Transload & Terminals and trucking-maintenance and repair-specialists Boasso America.
