Vestas recognizes that safety is not just for employees of the company but extends to contractors, vendors and suppliers that provide services to the company. To adress this, Vestas has partnered with PICS, a third-party vendor, which provides contractor and vendor-management pre-qualification oversight.

PICS reviews nondisclosure agreements, certificates of insurance, safety-performance metrics and safety manuals against a pre-established set of criteria. Any component of the pre-qualification in which the criteria is not satisfied is flagged. Thus, the contractor or vendor is not approved to perform services until the item has been resolved.

Vestas, which recognizes the importance of early intervention at the outset of an employee injury, also has entered into a partnership with Axiom Medical Consulting to provide telephonic post-accident and/or incident investigation; and wellness and case-management services involving employee injuries. Axiom fills the crucial 24-48 hour gap before the third-party administrator typically gets involved.
