Arthur J. Gallagher led all insurance brokers in July with five announced acquisitions.

Other brokers announcing deals in the month include Hub International Ltd.; Combined Agents of America; USI Insurance Services; One Beacon Insurance Group; Confie Seguros, and Marsh & McLennan Agency.

Terms of all the acquisitions were not released.

ARTHUR J. GALLAGHER

AJG acquired Miller Buettner & Parrott, Contego Underwriting, Triad USA, Grace/Mayer Insurance Agency, and G. S. Chapman & Associates Insurance Brokers headquartered in Pasadena, Calif.

Miller Buettner & Parrott, based in Rockford, Ill., offers employee-benefits insurance and consulting services to clients throughout the central United States.

London-based Contego Underwriting specializes in coverages for the construction and engineering industries. The firm has clients in over 50 countries.

Triad USA, based in Pittsburgh, offers employee-benefits services and consulting to middle-market clients throughout the U.S.

Founded in 1917, Grace/Mayer Insurance, Omaha, Neb., provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits and risk management services for U.S. and international commercial and personal-lines clients.

Chapman Insurance, based in Pasadena, Calif., specializes in P&C insurance and employee-benefits and risk-management services for clients in the non-profit, healthcare, education, and real estate and transportation industries.

HUB INTERNATIONAL

Chicago-based insurance broker Hub says it has acquired Bryson & Company, a Ridgeland, Miss.-based insurance-brokerage firm that offers P&C insurance and employee-benefits products and services. Bryson, which currently operates out of locations in Ridgeland, Canton, Hattiesburg, Oxford and Holly Springs, Miss., and Baton Rouge, La., will become part of Hub International Gulf South.

Hub also acquired Sidles, Duncan and Associates, an Irvine, Calif.-based employee-benefits brokerage firm. SDA will become part of the California division of Hub International Insurance Services (Hub California).

COMBINED AGENTS OF AMERICA

Combined Agents of America says two of its member agencies, Duncan, Fraser & Bridges Insurance Agency (DFB), and Pinnacle Insurance Group acquired a pair of agencies with total written premium of approximately $11.7 million.

DFB acquired Greater Texas Insurance Managers and Agency, based in Cedar Park, Texas. The agency will continue to operate under the Greater Texas name.

Pinnacle acquired Naler Insurance Agency, Inc. based in McGregor, Texas.

USI

USI Insurance Services says it acquired New York-based Kelly Insurance Brokerage, which offers a full range of employee-benefits and consulting services, including financial analysis, government compliance, benefit plan design and development, and account-management services. The firm will be combined with Emerson Reid and Co., USI's benefits wholesale operation headquartered in New York City.

ONEBEACON

OneBeacon Insurance Group, LLC says it acquired Public Entities of America (PEA) from Insurance Office of America, Inc. PEA is an Atlanta-based wholesale brokerage specializing in the public sector. It will be aligned with OneBeacon's Government Risks group, but will continue to operate as an independent wholesale agency assisting local producers with the placement of insurance for government-entity clients.

CONFIE SEGUROS

Confie Seguros, a national provider of personal-lines insurance focused on the needs of Hispanic consumers, acquired three insurance agencies, bringing its total number of deals for the year to 13.

The three agencies acquired are: Bradley Insurance Agency, of Las Vegas, Nev.; A Auto Insurance World of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Westside Auto of Ontario, Calif.

In addition, the company named Chad Maxwell as senior vice president, mergers and acquisitions. Maxwell has spent over 15 years focused exclusively on completing retail independent insurance-agency M&A deals.

MARSH & MCLENNAN AGENCY

Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of insurance broker Marsh Inc., acquired Security Insurance Services, of Wisconsin. Security Insurance Services offers P&C and employee-benefits products and services to businesses and individuals throughout the Midwest, specializing in the senior living healthcare, construction, and manufacturing industries. The firm will operate as a division of Marsh & McLennan Agency company, RJF.
