But each of our 10 Living Legends did precisely that. Whether it's conceiving the idea for catastrophe models, changing the conversation around specialty markets or crafting game-changing legislation, these 10 visionaries can take credit for innovations that affect all out work days, every day.

We're grateful that almost all the legends took the time to speak with us at length about their accomplishments (incidentally, the country code for Mount Olympus is 777). One legend even agreed to a sit-down, on-camera interview with us, which digital subscribers can watch within this issue.
