Small business owners are taking on too many tasks at once, according to a survey by eVoice.

The study found that 44 percent of respondents perform five or more job functions for their organizations, making multi-tasking the biggest obstacle for small business owners. Not having enough time in the day to finish everything came in a close second. The three other possible answers included outweighing making profit, staying ahead of competition and managing employees.

Other notable survey findings include:

  • About 38 percent of small business owners said time was their most valuable business asset. About 36 said their computers were most valuable.
  • Nearly one-third of respondents said keeping up with technology changes was the most challenging IT issue facing them today. Around half this number—16 percent of respondents—answered, “No IT support,” and 15 percent answered, “Being more mobile.”
  • Almost half of respondents (45 percent) plan to move more business services to the cloud this year.
