Parker assumes the position of CFO immediately, the insurance carrier says. The San Antonio, Texas-based company is a cooperative open only to current and past military personnel and their families.

Just last month, Parker was named the company's chief administrative officer and served five years as president of USAA property and casualty insurance group. Prior to that he was president and CEO of USAA's financial planning services.

“By executing our existing succession plans, we can move swiftly and judiciously while maintaining the chemistry among our senior team and therefore our tremendous momentum,” says Robles in a statement.

The company also named:

• Melinda G. Reeves—executive vice president of People Services.
• Shon J. Manasco—chief administrative officer.
• Michael F. Barry—senior vice president of enterprise integration reporting to Manasco.

Additionally, Kevin Bergner was named president of USAA P&C insurance group. He spent two years as USAA's chief administrative officer prior to his promotion. Prior to joining USAA, he was a major general in the U.S. Army.

Along with the Bergner announcement, the company also named Steve Speakes executive vice president of external affairs.
