We like to think at NU that our coverage of individual insurance lines has long been one of our greatest strengths.
And we know from both reader surveys and informal feedback that our line-specific reports are seen as some of the most valued content we provide—and is information important to all our readers: producers, buyers and underwriters.
Those already doing business in this area need to stay on top of the latest trends. And those who might be considering (re)entering the line need to discover where the latest opportunities might lie, and what the essential particulars are with this class of business.
But we know we can always improve, and I want to use this space to draw your attention to some changes you'll see starting in this issue of the magazine—and, at least as important, point you to a new area of our Web site that is designed to showcase the depth of our lines-focused content: feature stories, news articles, directories, recommended resources, videos and more.
Within this issue of NU, you'll notice that we have two stories covering specific lines: coverage for cultural centers (page 18) and for high-net-worth individuals (page 20). And you'll be receiving more such issues going forward that include multiple looks at single lines.
And we won't just be including more lines in our issues—we're also devoting more space to each individual report so we can take deeper, more in-depth dives to highlight more emerging issues, spotlight more new products, and give you the insights and opinions of more experts.
We hope, in fact, when you see our new “NU's Guide to…” stamped on one of our lines reports that you'll clear out a special place for it in your workspace so it's always nearby and ready for easy reference.
While these print reports are meant to be both comprehensive and forward-looking, we know that line-specific news is always happening: Carriers are releasing new policy options; regulatory bodies are issuing updated rules; movements in the macro-economy are affecting how much or what type of coverage is required.
So each line you see in print will also have a dedicated home on PropertyCasualty360.com (http://www.propertycasualty360.com/Markets/featured-lines), where we aggregate all our content—and keep it constantly updated with the latest information (and quick links to comprehensive contact data for all the markets that play in this space, created by our partners at Kirschners.com).
Soon, you'll be able to not only find all the information on this line created by NU's editorial team—you'll also be able to add your voice to the conversation occurring around the business, whether you have a comment to add, a white paper to share or want to connect with another industry peer who shares your knowledge of and passion for this area.
And while we're on the subject of sharing, be sure to let me know if there are lines you're eager for us to explore. You can discover what lines we have slated for the rest of 2012 by checking out online our editorial calendar. But if you don't see the line(s) you're most interested in, let us know, and we'll definitely consider adding it to the “line lineup” for this year.
