An assistant to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has been named regional manager and counsel for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America in the Sunshine State.
G. Donovan Brown, most recently an associate at Foley & Lardner, takes on the government relations role for the insurance industry trade association.
At Foley & Lardner, Brown counseled and represented clients on matters pending before the Florida legislature and state executive agencies, specifically the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation and the Florida Department of Financial Services.
He was previously an associate at Akerman Senterfitt. Before his legal career, Brown served as a special assistant to Gov. Jeb Bush.
Brown was named to Florida Trend's 2009 Legal Elite as an up-and-coming attorney. He is a graduate of the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and also earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida.
“Donovan's experience over the last decade has given him a wealth of knowledge of legislative and legal affairs in Tallahassee, and he brings many key relationships into his new role,” says Paul Blume, PCI's senior vice president, state government relations. “He has been able to come in and hit the ground running, and we look forward to great things from him at PCI.”
