A Liberty Mutual insurance claims adjuster finds she will get more than she bargained for while trying to cut costs.
According to police, Celina Garcia, of Lawrence, N.H., filed a false stolen motor vehicle report instead of paying a high repair bill on her car. She also collected nearly $7,400 from Liberty Mutual for the phony theft claim. Garcia, 34, actually abandoned the 2001 Nissan X-Terra in a Derry, N.H. auto repair shop in May.
She is charged with auto insurance fraud, larcency over $250 and filing a false police report.
