EVP joins AmWINS, opens NC office: Brian Henderson has joined AmWINS Group as executive vice president. He comes to the company from Peachtree Special Risk Brokers. Karen G. Toler, formerly of Burns & Wilcox, has joined AmWINS to lead its new office in Morehead City, N.C. The office will focus primarily on personal lines risks, including high value homeowners', H06 policies, excess flood and excess windstorm.
Patriot Underwriters promotes Turner to president: Patriot National Insurance Group appointed Richard G. Turner as president of its subsidiary, Patriot Underwriters Inc. Turner comes to the position as executive vice president of Patriot National Insurance Group and will retain these responsibilities.
Arbella names two execs: Lynellen Ramirez has been promoted to the newly created position of chief actuary and vice president of Research Analytics at Arbella Insurance Group. She has served the company for 12 years. Amy Wood joined Arbella as assistant vice president of Personal LInes.
Hylant hires benefits leader: David Norris has joined Hylant Group to lead the Employee Benefits Practice in its Indianapolis office. With this hire Norris offers 13 years of industry experience.
Keenan hires new VP: Steven Balentine, formerly of North Orange County United Teachers, has joined Keenan as the vice president of labor relations. Balentine brings over 30 years of union experience to the company.
Poms hires new account executive: Debbie Gordon has joined Poms and Assocs. Insurance Brokers Inc. to take on the role as account executive in the risk managment group. Gordon most recently served as senior claims examiner with Safeco and offers more than 14 years of industry experience.
Paul Davis hires new operations manager: Margaret Lagasse has joined Paul Davis Restoration to lead as operations manager in its centralized contents cleaning facility. Lagasse has more than 11 years exeperience in the industry.
Michael Rosenzweig recieves high honor: Micheal “Mickey”Rosenzweig recently recieved the American College Foundation's highest honor—the president's award. He has been selected in recognition of his service to the college and its advancement efforts.
New Policies
NIF offers nursery and garden program: NIF Group has launched a program designed for the nursery and garden center industry. NIF Insurance Services of California, a division of NIF Group, will act as program administrator, in partnership with Markel Programs. The Nursery and Garden Center program is currently being offered in California. The program will expand in the future to Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico and Texas. The program offers commercial property (real and personal), general liability, automobile, crime, inland marine, and excess. Peak season and limited pollution coverage are also available.
Liberty Mutual offers Fit4Work: Liberty Mutual Agency Corp.'s regional commercial lines companies now offer workers' compensation policyholders Fit4Work, an integrated disability management program. Fit4Work helps employers get workers back on the job with temporary, transitional work assignments, including modified or alternate duties that are within an employee's current physical capabilities. Teams at each regional company advise employers on development of return to work programs, workplace education, and work conditioning to restore employees to their full work capacities.
Zurich launches Compass travel, Sponsored Special Risk, Defense Base Act programs: Zurich announces its employer-paid benefit plan, Zurich Compass, which combines Zurich Travel Assist and business travel accident insurance. Zurich Compass combines comprehensive accident benefits for accident loss of life and/or medical expenses with Travel Assist, a financial and logistical program that offers medical assistance and referrals, security services and emergency travel assistance. The company also launched Zurich Group Sponsored Special Risk, which provides participant accident and group coverages for untimely accidents that occur during group outings and large events in volunteer, membership and union organizations. Zurich also now provides Defense Base Act Accident Wraparound program, which offers benefits to U.S. government contract workers who are emoloyed overseas. This policy provides war risk coverage and out-of-country accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Travelers offers marine construction program: Travelers now offers the marine construction program, an insurance package that combines specialized underwriting, risk mitigation, and claim services. The program helps contractors manage risks that come with working in or around water. This policy provides bumbershoot and commercial hull and protection and idemnity coverage.
Arbella offers data breach coverage: The Arbella Insurance Group has partnered with Identity Theft 911 to provide commerical data breach coverage to small business customers. Arbella's data breach services include breach expense coverage and access to identity theft 911's secure breach preparedness website.

New online forum added to ZprogramsMatch.com: Zurich has launched new online forum feature ZProgramsMatch.com to help property and casualty insurance agents connect. The forum also makes finding coverage for hard-to-place risks an easier process.
