Making the decision to travel to a conference is a difficult one for many companies. There is plenty to gain from immersing oneself in the educational opportunities available here and in Nashville in two weeks for the IASA conference, but is it worth the expense of flying across the country—for many of us—and spending three or four nights in a quality hotel?

There are plenty of educational options available in the comfort of your own office these days. You could probably attend a Web seminar dealing with insurance or IT issues virtually (in both senses of the word) every day of the week. These are valuable tools for companies today and save employers thousands of dollars.
