Many of the state legislatures that have just been gaveled into order are different in makeup from the ones that finished their legislative business in 2010. While any election has the potential to usher in change, the most recent election reached truly historic levels in terms of overall turnover and change in party control of legislative chambers.
What effect this unprecedented level of change has on insurance industry priority issues is something that will take time to develop. The one thing that is certain is that many new faces in places of power will need to be educated on the complexities of insurance public policy matters.
