Business-owner Robert Giller of Swampscott, Mass., is facing a total of 40 counts of insurance fraud, larceny, and attempted larceny in connection with an auto glass scheme.

Giller, 52, was the owner and President of Advanced Automotive Concepts, Inc., and served as treasurer for its glass repair business, New England Glass Company, Inc. Both businesses performed work on motor vehicles, including glass repairs and replacement, but neither had a streak-free record system.

Investigators allege that Giller wasn't quite clear on the invoices and records he submitted to insurers from 2006 to 2009, and have accused him of submitting false statements to collect $28,000 in payments on work that was never performed on motor vehicles.

Giller is scheduled to be arraigned later this month on 20 counts of insurance fraud, 18 counts of larceny over $250, and two counts of attempted larceny. The former glass company owner has really smeared his own record in this case, and with any luck, his story will encourage other fraudsters to clean up their acts.
