While in the showroom at the auto dealer, customers now can not only get a quote but can actually purchase a GEICO insurance policy using their mobile device, at the same time they're buying a new or used vehicle.
"Technology is changing the way customers interact with businesses, and we have seen that more customers are doing business online using their smartphones," says Steve Smith, GEICO assistant vice president for information technology. "As more customers come to GEICO.com via mobile device, we will continue to enhance their online experiences."
GEICO's latest mobile offering caps off an active year, in which it released GloveBox apps for the iPhone and Android operating systems, allowing policyholders to pay auto insurance bills, view ID cards, review claims and policy information on select mobile devices.
