Vic Krauze has been appointed chairman and CEO of Willis North America, succeeding Don Bailey, who will leave the company in December to work for a U.S. personal lines carrier.
Willis did not name the carrier because that company has not yet completed its internal communications, according to a spokesperson.
Mr. Krauze will report to Willis Group Holdings Chairman and CEO Joe Plumeri.
Previously, Mr. Krauze was president and chief operating officer of Willis North America. He joined Willis in January 1997 as a producer and was later promoted to president and CEO of Willis' Minnesota operations. In July 2003, he was named national partner of the Great Lakes Region, and was appointed chief operating officer of Willis North America in February 2008. In August 2009, he was also named president of Willis North America.
In addition to Mr. Krauze's appointment, Willis also appointed Todd Jones, formerly National Partner for the Northeast Region, as president of Willis North America, reporting to Mr. Krauze.
Mr. Plumeri said, "Vic's extensive track record at Willis and his outstanding performance at the front lines during many watershed moments in our company's history position him perfectly to assume the helm of our North American operation.
Regarding Mr. Bailey, who joined Willis in 2003, Mr. Plumeri said, "We thank Don for his many contributions to our firm and wish him all the best in his new role on the carrier side. Don has provided exemplary leadership during a very challenging period in our industry and oversaw the complex integration with HRH with great precision."
Willis North America is the North American retail brokerage business of Willis Group Holdings. The unit has more than 200 local offices across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
