Shaun Brown, 32, was working as an adjuster at Nationwide Insurance when he allegedly altered a few old claim policies. The Charlotte resident showed real gall when he altered policies on four separate occasions from October 2009 to March 2010, issuing claim checks each time. The checks, totaling $14,625, all went to members of his family.

Brown was arrested on four charges of embezzlement on October 14, and has been placed under a $6,000 secured bond.
