The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said it now has someone to head its consumer markets to complete the leadership of a new organizational structure the company announced in April.
Andy Napoli, most recently with the CUNA Mutual Group, has been named president of consumer markets, The Hartford said.
Shortly after completing a plan to repay $3.4 billion to the U.S. Treasury's Troubled Asset Relief Program, Chief Executive Officer Liam E. McGee outlined a plan to increase the company's return on equity.
Mr. Napoli's appointment as head of consumer markets completes what Mr. McGee, also the company's chairman and president, terms The Hartford's "three growth businesses."
In April Juan Andrade was named president of commercial markets, with a focus on small commercial business, middle market and specialty property and casualty, and small-to-midsize business group benefits. John Walters was chosen to lead the wealth management arm to provide individual life, retirement, life legacy holdings and business owner development.
The consumer markets segment has an objective to grow its relationship with the AARP auto and home insurance program while pursuing additional affinity relationships. Mr. Napoli has experience developing affinity markets, working with Credit Unions as the chief administrative officer of the CUNA Mutual Group.
Mr. Napoli has also worked in a variety of product, pricing and claims roles for Progressive and Nationwide, The Hartford said.
