Westfield Group has named James R. Clay as its next group leader and chief executive officer while its chairman, Robert J. Joyce, said he plans to retire.
Mr. Clay has been with the Westfield Center, Ohio-based company for over 30 years. He currently serves as insurance leader and president.
Edward J. Largent will succeed Mr. Clay.
Mr. Largent joined Westfield in 1986 and currently serves as group administration leader.
Mr. Joyce said he plans to retire in March 2012. He will serve as the executive chairman of the Westfield board until his retirement.
Westfield said the three individuals will assume their new duties on Jan. 1, 2011.
Westfield Insurance provides commercial and personal insurance and surety services in 28 states. The company markets products through independent insurance agencies.
