From July 2008 to June 2010, Sead Mustafic, 43, and Senad Mustafic, 24, made Fargo roads a dangerous and expensive place to drive. The men allegedly defrauded various insurance companies out of more than $10,000 simply by changing lanes. The scheme essentially involved either Sead or Senad following a driver that was making lane changes, and speeding into the lane the driver was veering to so as to collide with the unassuming driver’s car. Because the target was making the lane change, he or she would be viewed as the faulty party for the collision, even though most claimed that the lane had been clear prior to the maneuver.
