"Craig Lowenthal has been a dedicated IASA volunteer for many years and brings a deep understanding of the goals of the association to bear as IASA president," says Joe Pomilia, IASA executive director. "Craig's passion for volunteering and his technology background in the insurance industry will help us expand on two areas of critical importance to the association."

Lowenthal has been a technology professional for 25 years, and focused in the insurance industry for more than 21 years. Currently, he is social media strategist for Glatfelter. Prior to joining Glatfelter, Lowenthal was the CIO for NYMAGIC, INC. and has held positions as managing principal and CIO for the startup, Integro Insurance Brokers, and as vice president and CIO for Hartford Financial Products, a unit of The Hartford.
During his tenure at Hartford Financial Products, he led the effort to reestablish regular business operations after the company's offices at 7 World Trade Center were lost on September 11, 2001.
Before joining The Hartford, Lowenthal held a senior leadership position with Reliance National Insurance Company, where he was managing vice president and CTO for 11 years. In addition to his technology and leadership experience, Lowenthal earned his BS in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and is a CPA licensed in New York.
"As a CPA and a former CIO, I believe I understand the educational needs of the IASA membership very well," says Lowenthal. "As IASA president, I am looking forward to promoting the benefits of volunteering to the industry on a larger scale, and in evangelizing the value that IASA educational offerings can have for insurance professionals of all responsibilities and at all levels."
In addition to the election of Lowenthal as IASA president, the association's members nominated Ruth Estrich of MedRisk as president-elect, Louise Ziemann of State Farm as chief financial officer, Ed Kruger of Indiana Farm Bureau as chief information officer, and Mike Monahan of ACLI, Tom Ewbank of Ewbank Group, Tim Morgan of Republic Insurance, and Ernie Pearson of SECURA Insurance, as board members at-large.
