CRC Insurance Services Inc. has acquired TB&C Wholesale Insurance Services of Glendale and Placentia, Calif.

CRC, the wholesale insurance subsidiary of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based bank BB&T, said TB&C would combine offices and operate as CRC Insurance Services.

TB&C is a multiline wholesale insurance brokerage firm consisting of seven employees.

Robin Robb and Joseph Rowland, managing partners of TB&C, will combine their locations with CRC's office in Santa Ana and Glendale, Calif.

Ms. Robb will serve as office president-casualty in Glendale, and Mr. Rowland will serve as office president in Santa Ana.

CRC also announced the promotion of James Kuchta to office president-professional liability in the Glendale office.

In a statement, Tom Curtin, chief executive officer and founder of CRC, said the action solidifies CRC's commitment to Southern California.

Ms. Robb, Mr. Rowland and Mr. Kuchta, along with Mickey Hopkins, office president in Redondo Beach, Calif., will lead the Southern California operations.
