When it comes to its relationships with clients, Ebix views itself as more of a business partner than as a developer of on-demand and transactional systems. “One of the things Ebix is proud of is our knowledge and ability to come up with solutions to business issues, not just deliver software,” says Christine Denham, senior vice president of Ebix's property/casualty division. “What we're really delivering are business solutions. We act very much as a business partner with all our customers.” Denham attributes the Atlanta-based company's high customer rankings for its Infinity product (rebranded as EbixAdvantage) to its focus on being a business partner.
Winner of a RAVE Award in the P&C policy administration category, EbixAdvantage is a feature-rich end-to-end policy and claims administration system. First introduced in 1991, the .NET-based product has evolved to become a fully integrated platform that is scalable for any size P&C insurer.

EbixAdvantage can be installed as an entire system or implemented as a subsystem to match specific processing and reporting needs. The flexible product offers tight integration of all of a carrier's back- and front-end processes. According to Denham, Ebix does not view carrier systems in isolation but considers both the distributor and carrier sides to make electronic relationships between partners more efficient. “No longer is claims siloed from underwriting,”Denham explains. “Everything is in the same system, and users can see every piece of information they need to do their job.”
Ebix, which serves businesses in more than 50 countries across six continents, has completed 25 implementations of EbixAdvantage to date. The system currently is in use at 18 insurers, notes the solution provider. Denham, who has worked on the product since its inception, says Infinity is successful because it was designed by professionals with in-depth experience in the insurance industry.
“Most of our professionals have worked in insurance companies, so they know what types of business problems carriers deal with,” she says. “EbixAdvantage is the only system companies need to administer their P&C product lines from policy administration to billing to claims processing.”
