We focus on two areas to attract and retain IT talent in today's market. The first is ensuring our compensation packages are competitive with the regional marketplace. We use an external IT market compensation study to benchmark positions, and we make adjustments as necessary. The second area we consider important is having an active talent-management program. This includes working with each individual to choose a career path (i.e., technical vs. managerial) and offering everyone appropriate training and developmental opportunities. In addition, top performers are provided visible and challenging projects.
