The Travelers Companies Inc. and its private foundation, the Travelers Foundation, said its 2009 charitable contributions totaled nearly $19 million in community support across the country.
In addition, the Hartford, Conn.-based firm said its employees contributed 12,000 volunteer hours to their local communities.
The company said a significant portion of its giving was to public education reform and improving academic and career success for underrepresented youth.
