Acadia Insurance announced Jan. 11 that it is offering a complete range of bundled products for the agribusiness industry throughout New England and New York.
Acadia's agribusiness target markets include: horse, dairy, cattle, sheep, grain, hay, wheat, vegetable, tree and turf farms, aquaculture (fish farms), estate farms, vineyards, as well as owner-operated farms that include packing.
"At Acadia, we see agribusiness as a true specialty industry," said Acadia Agribusiness Manager Michael J. Hrabovsky. "It is a fascinating field that is a driver of local economies and a healthy resource for our communities. And as such, we've carefully built and refined Acadia's capabilities to meet the marketplace needs as farms become more sophisticated, organic farms multiply and consumers prefer to buy locally grown fresh products."
A recent Organic Trade Association manufacturer survey showed that U.S. sales of organic food and beverages have grown from $1 billion in 1990 to an estimated $20 billion in 2007.
Hrabovsky joined Acadia with more than 20 years of agribusiness underwriting and marketing experience. As head of the program, he will operate out of Acadia's Syracuse, New York, office and will be traveling extensively throughout the northeast region.
Acadia's Agribusiness Program offers the following array of products:
- Farmowner's Package Policy
- Farm CGL and related endorsements
- Inland Marine
- Auto
- Workers' Compensation (in most states)
