Jessica Hanson, PCI director of public affairs, was honored at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. as a winner of PR News15-to-Watch award. The award honors 15 young public relations leaders and creative practitioners in a variety of categories.

Hanson has been with PCI since 2007, managing public affairs activities on behalf of the association's members for 11 states in the southeast. She has effectively led broad ranging public affairs campaigns on Florida property insurance reform; the abolishment of accident response fees in multiple states; North Carolina Beach Plan reform; Georgia auto insurance regulatory modernization; Florida no-fault auto insurance; and Texas coastal insurance reforms. Hanson serves as PCI's director of federal public affairs in the organization's Washington, D.C. office.

Previously, Hanson worked in both government affairs consulting in Florida and campaign management for federal and state candidates. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science and communication and a master's degree in business administration from Florida State University.
