The Risk and Insurance Management Society, noting that company "travel and training budgets are tight" said it has added four more Web-based professional development offerings.

RIMS noted that it is responding to its members' needs by expanding its already wide range of on-line courses, webinars, and recorded podcasts, while adding new options such as RIMS On-line Courses and CourseCasts.

The Society said it is employing a hands-on approach to the training and education of its members need by utilizing practitioners as instructors and promoting interaction among participants.

The latest professional development offerings by RIMS include:

o Casualty Claim Handling Techniques: Agency Law (CourseCast, Dec. 10, 2010)

oAdvanced Directors & Officers Liability Issues (CourseCast, Jan. 14, 2010)

oCreating Value: Risk Manager as Innovator (Online Course, February 1 - 26, 2010)

oHow to Conduct a High Quality Risk Assessment (Online course March 1- 26 2010)
