Joseph Restoule, president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, has traveled far and wide in anticipation of this month's annual conference–recently returning from visits to Japan, Columbia and Bermuda–where he found that interest in enterprise risk management has "just taken off."
In Japan, he reported, it was all about ERM. "My conclusion was that there is a great appetite for information and knowledge in that area," he said.
He also noted that after speaking to "everybody from the neophyte to the intermediate," he found "there are very few senior practitioners in this [ERM] area. So I think there will be a thirst getting to that senior level."
