The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. (PIACT) said Timothy Russell, a senior member of the Russell Agency LLC in Southport, Conn., will receive its Professional Agent of the Year award at the association's upcoming Annual Convention.

PIACT said Mr. Russell will serve as the association's vice president for 2009-10. He is also budget and finance chairperson of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee, legislative chairperson of the Legislative/Business Issues Committee, and a member of PIACT's political action committee. Previously, he served as treasurer of the association in 2008-09.

In his community, Mr. Russell is past president of the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Charter Property and Casualty Underwriters Society, chairman of the Southport Blessing of the Fleet and Street parade, and has served on various board positions at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
