Victor O. Schinnerer & Company Inc. has introduced Network Protection for Design Professionals, an endorsement to Schinnerer's professional liability policy that offers protection for cyber-related liabilities arising out of security breaches. Coverage is triggered by an insured's error, omission, neglect or breach of duty that results in a security breach and damage to a third party's network, or the release or damage of a third party's electronic information.

Network damage includes the inability of an authorized user to access a network, damage to or theft of electronic information, malicious code infection, suspension or interruption of a network, or a denial of service attack. Privacy injury and identity theft are also covered. Coverage is also provided for the insured's cost to notify affected parties of a security breach involving private, personally identifying information when required by state or federal regulations.
