The Council on Litigation Management, a group that provides training and educational opportunities to create a better awareness and expertise of litigation management, is offering two complimentary courses for insurance adjusters in various cities next month.

The first course, “Litigation 101 for Insurance Professionals,” targets adjusters with little or no experience in handling litigation issues. It will examine the litigation process and explain terminology and vocabulary by covering topics such as the appropriate court, the petition/complaint, defensive pleadings, discovery, pre-trial disposition, and trial.

The second course, “Economics of Litigation Management,” is geared towards adjusters with at least three years of experience. It aims to help attendees make cost-effective decisions to achieve positive results for the insured by looking at risk and reward. The discussion will involve three areas that have the biggest effect on the economics of litigation managements: litigation plans; budgets; and valuations, dispositions, and resolutions.

Each course is approximately two hours in length and will take place in the following cities:

?Dallas (Dec. 3)

?New York (Dec. 3) *only “Economics of Litigation Management” will be offered.

?Boston (Dec. 4)

?Chicago (Dec. 8)

?San Francisco (Dec. 12)
