A new resource could help insurers manage the process of dealing with claims resulting from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike by keeping track of the emergency regulations and bulletins issued by state departments of insurance.

A special "Hurricane Regulatory Alert" section has been added to Wolters Kluwer Financial Services' Insurance Compliance Solutions site, offering insurers summaries and excerpts from the emergency regulations and bulletins all in one location. Also provided are direct links to the regulations and bulletins as they are listed on the Web sites of each state department of insurance.

"After a natural catastrophe, insurers can easily be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of claims that come in," said David Evans, vice president and general manager of Insurance Compliance Solutions at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. "On top of that, they must be diligent in watching the various emergency regulations and bulletins that are issued in response to the disaster."
