Delos Insurance Group, a New York-based provider of program business insurance, announced that John Shettle has been appointed non-executive board chairman.
Delos consists of Delos Insurance Company and its wholly-owned excess and surplus lines subsidiary, Naxos Insurance Company.
Mr. Shettle joined the board of directors of Delos Insurance Group's holding company, Lightyear Delos Acquisition Corp., in November 2007. He is currently a senior adviser to Lightyear Capital.
Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of The Schinnerer Group, a subsidiary of Marsh & McClennan Companies. There, he ran Victor O. Schinnerer & Company Inc. and ENCON Group Inc., two underwriting management insurance organizations in North America. Mr. Shettle has also served in executive positions at Tred Avon Capital Advisors Inc., AVEMCO Corporation and Swiss Re.
He currently serves on the board of directors of Lightyear Capital's portfolio company, Antares Holdings Limited.
