It seems that two North Carolina residents may have not been ready to use the "big kid" scissors
Department of Insurance investigators allege Terri Strozier, 44, and Thomas Silver, 44 conceived and executed a plot to defraud their insurance company of almost $2,000. Silver allegedly showed Strozier how to damage her own vehicle with a pair of scissors so the couple could receive an insurance settlement. Afterward, Strozier filed a phony claim with Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company stating that her vehicle had been vandalized; the company paid her nearly $1,900 in September 2006.
Strozier and Silver were charged with one count each of obtaining property by false pretense, insurance fraud and conspiracy. Department of Insurance investigators arrested Strozier and Silver on Sept. 12.
