In case you are wondering whatever became of Leonard Crouse, former Vermont captive regulator, he began work in the private sector on June 1 as a partner with the U.S. operations of Barbados-based Towner Management Group.
"It's quite different being on this side of the business, no question," noted Vermont's former deputy commissioner and director of captive insurance. "As a head regulator, you sat there and people came to you. Now you have to go out and bang on some doors and make phone calls and visit and travel."
He added, however, that he's having a good time. "People have been very nice," he said, "but I think I appreciate a little more what the people on this side of the business do to try to get business. You've got to grind away–but it's fun."
