Claims News Service, August 4, 10:54 a.m. EST — According to a Guy Carpenter catastrophe report released at 5 a.m. EST today, Tropical Storm Edouard is located in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 185 miles southeast of Lafayette, La. and is packing sustained winds of around 50 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The storm is traveling in a west-northwest direction and this motion is expected to continue over the next 24 hours. On its current forecast path, the NHC said Edouard is expected to be very near the upper Texas coast or the southwestern coast of Louisiana by tomorrow morning.
