Here's your chance to be part of the action, and participate in acknowledging your claim-handling peers. If you are aware of a member of your claim-handling team, or work with a dynamic independent who is a catalyst for claim-handling improvement, someone who provides leadership resulting in more efficient claim handling, we invite you to nominate them for consideration in the 2008 Claim Professional of the Year Award, sponsored by Claims Magazine and Smith & Brink, P.C., Attorneys At Law.

Nominations will be reviewed and the final winner determined by the Advisory Board consisting of Claims' Editorial Committee and claim executives from the industry. The award winner will be profiled in the July issue of Claims Magazine, and will be recognized at a special award ceremony at the 2008 ACE America's Claims Event, to be held at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld in Florida, June 9-11, 2008. The award winner and their significant other will be guests of the magazine and will be honored at a private VIP reception.

Nominations are due by April 1, 2008, and must incorporate the following criteria:

1. Ten or more years of industry service and currently active in the industry.
2. Significant, documented claim-related achievements and/or contributions to advance more efficient and effective claim handling.
3. Involvement in continuing education initiatives to further claim-related excellence.
4. Demonstrated claim-management and/or adjuster expertise that enhanced peer performance.
5. Extra-curricular activities that positively promote the claim profession and the insurance industry.

Nomination statements should not exceed 600 words, and must include name of nominee, title, company, and contact information. If nominating a colleague, please include your name and contact information as well. The nomination should also include contact information for a reference.
