You know fraud is out there. You know it's perpetrated against you. Join us at the 3rd Annual California Insurance Fraud Symposium later this month and start doing something about it.

Claims Magazine and The National Underwriter Company are sponsoring this fraud symposium on October 25-26, 2007, at the Torrance Marriott in Torrance, Calif., for a reason: Insurance fraud is rampant in California. It's well documented that the state faces more insurance fraud than any other. So those on the front lines fighting to contain the problem have to be armed through education.

Attendees can expect to learn key strategies for fighting fraud and how to comply with the California Department of Insurance (DOI) regulations. They will receive inside tips straight from insurance industry experts who are already doing it — and doing it well. This includes California DOI's Deputy Commissioner Dale Banda and the Los Angeles County District Attorney Albert Mackenzie, who has pioneered an approach to prosecute fraudsters, Al Capone-style. And don't forget about Los Angeles' FBI Supervisory Special Agent Steve Goldman, who will discuss how the FBI continues to battle white-collar crime, complete with case studies and examples used for illustration.

But it doesn't end there. Leading insurance companies such as State Farm, GEICO, Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Zenith, and the California State Automobile Association will have representatives from their fraud-hunting special investigation units educating you on their best practices and lessons learned.

This is the only event focused on the distinctive challenges facing insurance companies doing business in California.
