Still sensitive to potential conflicts of interest following allegations of bid-rigging and account steering against major brokerages and carriers, the Risk and Insurance Management Society has called on insurers to pull back their latest bonus compensation plans for brokers.

RIMS also urged risk managers to push harder for more transparency with fees.

While RIMS has issued previous statements concerning broker compensation, "this time we brought the insurers into the mix," said Terry Fleming, a RIMS board director as well as director of the division of risk management for Montgomery County, Md.
