The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society said it will offer a National Leadership Institute communications course next month in Ohio with the CPCU's Cincinnati Chapter.

“Building Communication Strategies: Leverage Your Best Critical Thinking” will be presented May 8 at Ohio Casualty University in Fairfield, Ohio.

Julia Sherwin, a CPCU spokesperson, said, “Effective communication is surfacing as the number-one skill that leaders in all professions cite as the distinguishing factor of a successful career.”

She explained that the course will give attendees an opportunity “to reassess their communication skills and reflect on how effective a communicator they are in today's diverse market.”

CPCU said by completing the course, attendees should leave with the ability to:

o Examine the recognized model for developing an effective message.

o Learn how to articulate intent and measure the outcome within specific industry scenarios.

o Leverage their best critical thinking and develop effective communication strategies.
