Do you know how many hits the phrase CIO survival guide turns up on Google? When I tried, it produced 722. From fully fledged tomes you can purchase online to trivial bits of advice ("How to choose a VoIP vendor"), their authors seem to enjoy wrapping their counsel into survival packaging.
Why has CIO survival become a glossy wrapper? Have we become so conditioned to associate the word CIO with failure? Do CIOs think of themselves that way? Today we will think contrarian. Enough about failing and surviving. Let us break the mental shackles of pessimism and gloom. Today we will focus our energy on being great . . .
