The National Association of Insurance Commissioners on Friday announced 2007 leadership for its “A” through “H” committees.

Julie McPeak, executive director of the Kentucky office of insurance, will chair the NAIC's “A” Life and Annuities Committee. She was vice chair of the committee in 2006. Tim Wagner, director of the Nebraska Insurance Department and an “A” Committee member in 2006, will serve as vice chair.

Jim Poolman, North Dakota insurance commissioner and “A” chair in 2006, will continue as a member of the “A” Committee this year.

Joel Ario was named chair of the Health Insurance and Managed Care “B” Committee. Kim Holland, Oklahoma insurance commissioner on the “B” Committee in 2006, will be vice chair in 2007. She replaces Jane Cline, West Virginia insurance commissioner, who becomes NAIC secretary-treasurer, a leadership position.

On the Property-Casualty Insurance “C” Committee, Kevin McCarty, commissioner of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, will remain as chair and will be joined by Michael McRaith, Illinois insurance director, who will become vice chair. Mr. McRaith replaces Al Iuppa, the former NAIC president who left to take a position in the insurance industry after his term of office expired.

The Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs “D” Committee will be chaired by Mike Kreidler, Washington insurance commissioner, and vice-chaired by Julie Beneafield Bowman, Arkansas insurance commissioner. They replace Susan Voss, Iowa insurance commissioner and 2006 chair, who will now serve as vice chair of the Financial Condition “E” Committee, and Ms. McPeak, who will be chairing the “A” Committee.

On the “E” Committee, Al Gross, commissioner of the Virginia Bureau of Insurance, will remain as chair.

Joseph Torti III, Rhode Island superintendent, will continue as chair of the Financial Regulation Standards and Accreditation “F” Committee. Kent Michie, Utah insurance commissioner, will become vice chair.

Diane Koken, Pennsylvania insurance commissioner and former NAIC president, will remain chair of the International Insurance Relations “G” committee and will be joined by Dorelisse Juarbe Jimenez, Puerto Rico commissioner.

Jim Long, North Carolina insurance commissioner, and Steven Orr, Maryland insurance commissioner, will continue to hold their respective posts as chair and vice-chair on the Information Resources Management “H” committee, according to the NAIC.
