Eqecat Inc. catastrophe modeling firm estimated damages from European wind storm Kyrill today at between $3.2 billion and $6.4 billion.
Based upon available data, Germany is expected to be the largest contributor to the losses from this event, the Oakland, Calif.-based catastrophe modeler said.
Eqecat said the estimated cost constitutes a European market loss with a recurrence interval of approximately seven to 10 years.
