Risk Management Solutions modeling firm said it will announce estimates next week of the insured loss that resulted when storm Kyrill blasted through Europe yesterday.
A spokesman for Newark, Calif.-based RMS, Mark Prindle, wrote that so far damage from the weather event is very widespread, but moderate.
“It's hit seven to eight countries from the UK through Poland and the Czech Republic–which is an extensive swath of winds,” he reported.
According to RMS, major cities such as London and Paris have escaped much damage.
Mr. Prindle said there has been “a lot of residential damage to roofs–tiles being blown off, and also being struck by debris; lots of trees down on power lines; and for commercial, too, some roofs off steel construction buildings.”
