Representative Dennis Ross (R-Lakeland), as expected, has been appointed by Speaker Rubio to another two years as chairman of the House Insurance Committee.
Ralph Poppell (R-Titusville) was appointed vice chairman. He has not served on the committee in recent sessions. Two other insurance agents serving on Insurance in the past were not re-appointed – Pat Patterson (R-DeLand) and Dick Kravitz (R-Orange Park).

Carl Domino (R-Juno Beach), from last year
Eduardo Gonzalez (R-Hialeah), a freshmen member of the House from Hialeah and a Humana employee
William Proctor (R-St. Augustine), new to the committee
Robert Schenck (R-Spring Hill), a freshmen member of the House
Terry Fields (D-Jacksonville), from the committee last year
Priscilla Taylor (D-Riviera Beach), an insurance agent, committee member last year, and sponsor of the House Democrats' state hurricane insurance program package last year
Audrey Gibson (D-Jacksonville), new to the committee
Janet Long (D-St. Petersburg), a freshman member of the House.
The committee has been reduced from 20 members to 10.
