Now insurance companies are being blamed for spoiling the party! When Governor-Elect Charlie Crist cancelled a lavish inaugural ball being financed by special interest contributions, he said it was because "he didn't feel right about an expensive party when so many people are struggling with higher insurance and property tax bills." (Maybe all the negative press about the high-roller tickets played a part, too?)
Crist attacked homeowners' and commercial property insurance during his campaign and it appears his criticism will continue into the governor's mansion.
