Fadley Kuzim pleaded guilty to second degree theft charges in an Anchorage trial court for filing a fraudulent insurance claim early this fall. Kuzmin's fraudulent claim occurred after he reinstated his auto insurance, which had lapsed, before reporting an accident.
The State of Alaska Division of Insurance carried out the investigation. Kuzmin received a five year suspended sentence, 120 hours of community service, and had to make $12,000 in restitution to State Farm Insurance. This year the Division of Insurance has hired an insurance fraud attorney in attempt to help reduce insurance crimes.
