Payroll employment for the finance and insurance sector increased by 5,000 in November, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today.
Seasonally adjusted figures showed the number grew from 6,179,000 in October to 6,184,000.
Total non-farm payroll employment rose by 132,000 in November, and the unemployment rate was essentially unchanged at 4.5 percent. Job gains were noted as continuing in service-providing industries, including professional and business services, food services, and health care.
