Over the past nine months PIA has been blanketing industry publications and web sites with ads featuring its new tagline, Local Agents Serving Main Street America (SM). According to the national office, the tagline was designed to give PIA members a compelling brand identity in the insurance marketplace.
The agents' association says, “Main Street is more than a location. It's an attitude. It's where PIA members do business. Main Street is where our heart is, and it's where our customers want to do business. Why? Because people prefer to deal with someone they know and trust when it comes to protecting what they have worked so hard to achieve.”
The program is now available to all PIA members and the insurance companies they represent. It includes a series of print advertisements that members can run in local publications, customized with their agency logo and contact information. Ads can also be printed for use as flyers or as inserts in publications. Each ad is available in a variety of sizes, in color as well as black and white.
According to the national office, the PIA branding program does not attempt to create a new identity for PIA members. Rather, it extends the reach of an agent's already-established local identity with a coordinated, high-quality advertising and promotional campaign. The goals are to attract new customers, to write more business, to make more money and increase market share for PIA agencies and their carrier partners, and to ensure that the independent agency distribution system continues to prosper, now and in the future.
Best of all, all the packaged materials are free to PIA members and the companies that support them.
The national office says that by running PIA branding program advertisements in their local publications, PIA members will position themselves in their local insurance marketplace as local agents offering personal support and service as well as a choice of companies' policies to better fit their customers' needs.
And by supporting their appointed PIA member agents with cooperative advertising dollars and by signing on as sponsors of the program, insurance companies will help ensure that their sales channel of choice prospers now and in the future.
